Phil Rowlands - Founder/Creative Director. Funky Medics

After years as a working actor and writer, mainly in film and television, Phil moved onto the production side and is now a freelance film producer as well as founder and creative director of Funky Medics. He has produced or written both documentaries and drama for television and radio and worked with young people in the community on acting, writing and film projects and is also an occasional lecturer on creative writing and development. He worked with Heart UK – the cholesterol charity - as an education consultant and was part of the UK NICE Guidelines Group on Familial Hypercholsterolaemia – FH - (inherited high cholesterol) and co author of a paper -the NICE Guidelines for Identification and Management of Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH): what does it mean for primary care?He also wrote and produced for Funky Medics  ‘Carry on Cholesterol’, an educational DVD focused for children and young people with FH.

Phil is an Honorary University Associate at the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences in Cardiff and is a freelance project consultant with the Waterloo Foundation

Sheena MacBrayne – Production Director 

Sheena’s initial experience in the film industry was in the field of Visual Effects, becoming a Director of one of the leading UK companies with numerous credits in films, TV dramas and commercials, gaining valuable experience in European co-production as UK producer for Group Films, Barcelona.

She has written, produced and directed documentaries for international television, particularly on ancient history including Egypt.  As an Egyptologist, she spent ten years in Egypt (1999 – 2009) making films and researching and facilitating film and television productions for international companies (Discovery, The Learning Channel, MBC, Channel 5 etc), working closely with Mr Zaki Ghazi, Head of the Egyptian Press Office in London and Vice President of International Co-Production at the Egyptian Media Production City. 

Her production and technical background assists her greatly in designing and producing multi-platform and new media projects that are entertaining, educational and emotionally engaging.  As a trained healer and counsellor, she is passionate about integrative medicine and the importance of humour/laughter to health and well-being.  She is a member of Directors UK and also a lecturer in Media Studies and Middle Eastern and Islamic History.   

 

Dave Legion – Animation and Website Design

Dave Legion is an award-winning music video director with over 8 years experience in the professional field. Although majoring in graphic design, his creative-technical abilities expand into motion graphics, animation, illustration, web design and 3D design. His music videos have been shown on a number of TV channels including MTV, Vh1 and Kerrang his success helped form a client base of over 6 record labels, where David has gained subsequent graphic design work, from web design / creation and animation to posters and Album artwork. Creatively driven / ambitious and always expanding into to new medias, aiding his creative desire in finding a unique creative solution with every project.

Having setup and ran 2 creative business’ and a record label, I now work as a freelancer designer and "New Member of The Funky Medics Team". Tackling a diverse range of medias in any given project and always looking to expand into new business ventures.

Howard Potter - Accountant and Company Secretary

Howard is a Chartered Certified Accountant, with over 30 years experience in the corporate sector, and company management. He has wide experience in banking and investment management, and runs his own company Potter & Co from Dinas Powis in the Vale of Glamorgan.
